Phileas Fogg, while in New York City, misses his boat to
Europe and has to find other means across the Atlantic. He ends up on a small
steamboat destined to Paris, France, but needs to get to Liverpool, Ireland.
The captain refuses to detour to Liverpool, causing Fogg to bribe the crew into
a mutiny. After the ship runs out of
fuel, and because he’s in a hurry, Fogg ends up purchasing the boat from the
captain and slowly tears the ship apart to use as fuel. One of the things that
Fogg finds during the destruction, specifically in the captain’s personal cabin,
are some French biscuit snacks.
I want to market the snacks to more of a higher end bar
scene, not your casual sports bar or pub. It will either be a gingerbread based
cookie/biscuit done in in a round cookie shape, or a long thin rectangle cookie
covered in a bitter dark chocolate sprinkled with sea salt.
For the packaging, I imagine either an easy to open box, or
an elegantly designed bag. For the design, I want it to basically ooze France,
so I envision it with artwork stylized after the famed Moulin Rouge artist Toulouse-Lautrec,
fairly sensualized, but including the cookies in what would amount to a
painting on the packaging.
